How to Sell Your Photography Online

As a photographer, selling your photography is your main goal. We have already covered how to sell your photography at craft fairs, and in local stores as a source of making income. However, the biggest feat of all is selling your photography online. After all, the internet is filled with other artists who all share the same goal. Here are some tips to help get your photography online and stand out!

1. Create a website

In order to sell photography online, you must have a place for people to purchase it. Ensure that your site is aesthetically pleasing and buy your domain name. There are plenty of website makers that won't be too expensive to maintain your website.

2. Create Social Media Pages

Having social media allows you to share your photographs with groups of people and lead them back to your website. Gain followers by following people who have interest in photography. Find other photographer pages and follow the people who are following them. This will help them discover you and use your site. Additionally, having social media pages will help with your website's Search Engine Optimization, helping users find you and your photography.

3. Use Photography Sites

Using a photography site as a vendor will help people who are already looking for photography find you! Sites such as Visual Society allow photographers to make shop pages and sell their photography keeping 100% of the profits!

4. Create a Blog

Blogging is a great way to help users find your website because it gives searchable text to your website. Having pages on your site with more copy than just images will improve the Search Engine Optimization for your site. It can also help users connect with you on a personal level and become more invested in your artwork.

5. Have Patience!

Things like this do not happen overnight so it is important to be realistic with your expectations and do not give up too early! It takes years to develop strong social media engagement and networking and bringing in hits to your website. Make sure that you are in it for the long run when you start and you will surely find success!
