I used these distress oxides once to do a live demo to show what each color looked like on snow cardstock.

Transform your papers, fibers, and photos with an aged appearance using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pad. Infuse your stamping projects with vibrant and dynamic colors. This pad offers the perfect fusion of dye and pigment ink, creating a beautifully oxidized effect when water is sprayed on it. Enhance your cards, scrapbooks, and mixed media projects with stamps or stencils by directly applying this pad to the surface. Experiment with blending different colors to achieve a personalized and one-of-a-kind look!

  • 1 pad per package, opened, used once for demo

Here are some other differences between the two:

  • Color: Distress Oxide inks are brighter and more opaque than Distress Inks when used on white or light-colored paper. However, Distress Oxide inks are brighter on kraft or dark cardstock, while Distress Inks are brighter on white cardstock.
  • Finish: Distress Oxide inks have a creamier finish, similar to chalk, while Distress Inks are more liquid in color.
  • Blending: Distress Oxide inks are made for blending and smudging, while Distress Inks can be more difficult to blend and may streak.
  • Drying time: Distress Inks dry faster than Distress Oxide inks.
  • Texture: Distress Oxide inks are thicker than Distress Inks.
  • Uses: Both Distress Inks and Distress Oxide inks can be used for watercoloring and embossing.
